m's first birthday at kapiolani community college

we did a shoot with m and his family about 4 months ago and now he is a big 1! m was a pretty tough kid to get to smile too.
i was lucky enough to be invited back for his birthday party - not only to take pictures of this fabulous event, but to taste the food from the kapiolani culinary arts program. its awesome food up there. thanks to p & w for inviting me!
m wasn't into cake and frosting at all. maybe with a spoon, it'd be a little more interesting.... nope....(good job mom!.... :)) and i'm glad i was finally able to get some consistent smiles out of m.... all we needed that first day was the play barn!
happy birthday with many more to come! i can't wait to see how big you get...they all sure grow fast, don't they? get lots of pictures of them while you can!!
happy friday.

kulamanu beach & P

been very lucky to have a couple of family photo shoots the past couple weeks. here are a few from kulamanu beach with P and her parents. she was very interested in the surfers walking by.... such a great family- can't wait to see how big she gets! for those of you who don't know where kulamanu beach is, go down kahala ave and find the pink house at papu cir. take a turn there, turn right again, and the park along the way there. the left side street (with no parking) takes you down to the little beach with great little tidepools & beachways in front of all the nice diamond head homes. love that beach. no showers though.

kid & family photography special

hello all-

i just wanted to let you know that the kid & family photography price will be raised in July.
You'll still get the 20 minutes & all images on CD for you, high resolution of course, and after July, you will be able to have friends and family view your images online in a safe and private gallery along with 2 enhanced photos.

BOOK your session now to reserve the old price. And thanks to everyone who's supported the cause- and if you've been thinking of family portraits - or even self portraits- now's the time.

Christmas designs available for cards too.
happy friday.

kula lodge & the upcountry wedding

its been busy around here with the gallery opening, a wedding on maui the weekend before it, and a family photo shoot this past weekend as well. trying hard to keep up wtih the images- going thru each image, like always, and its hard to narrow them down! but here are a few from the maui wedding, it was absolutely gorgeous, the clouds rolled in and it was truly a wedding in heaven in upcountry maui. we were also lucky enough to stay at the warm & generous kula lodge- although we didn't get to stay long. in at 11 and out the next morning at 9. sigh. next time we'll stay longer. :) thanks so much to tanya, jamie & emily for a fantastic lunch- and the beautiful wedding couple who we've known BK (before kids) who made the whole day shine.

welcome! Muumuu Heaven art opening

Good afternoon! What a better way to start a new blog than with  my own art opening out at muumuu heaven in Kailua and the graduation of my husband from law school. Lots of cool things-
a place to post pictures- although you can still follow my photos on facebook. Search for Studio 3511 photography. Images from the opening, courtesy of Geralyn Camarillo. One awesome photographer, can you believe she shot our wedding 9 years ago?? Yes, and that is a wrap sandwich stuffed in my mouth... I had no pockets to put it in...And huge thanks to Deb Mascia, owner of Muumuu Heaven for allowing me to have a great show in an awesome store. Did you know she takes old muumuus and gives them new life in cute little dresses, skirts & tops? Even little dresses for the girls out there...absolutely LOVE them - and Deb too! She never stops going.... she ROCKS.
Thanks for checking it out- and come back periodically for more posts & photos. aloha
